Sony Handycam HDR-PJ50 specification and price

Sony has released a new handycam dubbed Sony Handycam HDR-PJ50, what interesting here is that this new cam will allow playback via projection so you don’t have to wait to watch it on a system or transfer it into a DVD.

Sony Handycam HDR-PJ50 can shoot and record in HD (1920×1080), then the projector behind the small LCD scree lets you  project it. it’s supposed to be able to project up to 60-inches diagonally at a distance of 3 meters in a dark environment. The HDR-PJ50  features a 12x optical zoom, a 220GB hard drive and device is said to be able to double as a still camera that can shoot up to 7.1MP images. Sony claims that the zooming can be increased up to 17 from the 12x.

Sony released this new Handy-cam in India and it is said that more handy-cams with projector and a Clear Phase 5.1 channel stereo speaker with S-master digital amplifiers to produce clear, dynamic sound to come soon. Handy-cam is apparently also able to connect to an external 5.1 home cinema system through the 3.5mm audio input. The cam is available for purchase at 59,990RS and US $900.
