Intel and the Intel embarrassing bug

The bug on the 6 series chipset is really embarrassing, Intel has finally recognized the problem and is working to reach a quick solution. The defect is confined to the section of I / O so as to affect its performance going so far as to degrade the port SATA controller.

Intel, in the first instance, asked its partners to discontinue the sale of motherboards based on the series 6, or P67 and H67.

Not only that, Intel has also tried to run for cover and highlighted by informing its suppliers and consumers, the particular problem that has manifested itself by providing in this regard, all the possible details.

In this regard, Intel has also decided to play the card of public relations and, obviously, that the end-user technical support.

Thanks to information from the U.S. giant, its partners can now get a stock of recovery by isolating the problem and ensuring their buyers on the goodness of the motherboard is not affected by this malfunction.

In fact, some manufacturers have spoken, quite provisional, setting different configurations of the BIOS.

But there is a problem, in fact, these particular solutions highlight the possible limitations of the immediate motherboard: with a solution of this type you disable the SATA ports making it virtually useless these interfaces.

The consumer would find a motherboard to use in scaled-down version with serious problems in terms of data transfer.

Intel, for its part, is taking steps to develop the motherboard with a new version of the chipset that is able to permanently resolve the bug on SATA.

At present we do not know when Intel will offer the new version.

However, most manufacturers have already implemented, including MSI, to give its consumers the right information and possible action to resolve so momentary problem.
