Other benchmarks for A5

Other benchmarks for A5...

iPad 2, on sale in the United States a few hours, sporting a new dual core processor, called Apple A5, which promises much better performance than A4, the chip is mounted in the iPhone and iPod touch.

In the last hours the geeks have had the opportunity to test the processor to discover its full potential and early benchmarks show that each core of the A5 runs roughly 10% slower than single core of A4, working approximately 890MHx against GHz chip we already know. The A5 speed depends on the application is run, but oscillates between 861 and 894 MHz.

Nevertheless, iPad 2 is significantly faster than the first iPad. Thanks to dual core performance has improved, as detected by the test iOSnoops, around 65%.
