As christians, we confess that Jesus is God. We also acknowledge that Mary gave birth to Jesus. So does it follow that

Mary is the Mother of God?

The
answer lies on what we know about how a person is conceived. A sperm
fertilizes an egg and so a new life begins. The resulting new
individual gets genes from both parents; male and female. Since we know
from the scriptures that man, whether mother or father, has inherited
the "original sin", the offspring would likewise inherit the sinful
nature. Since Jesus did not have a biological father, He would only
inherit the sinful nature from Mary. So we either maintain that Mary
has been completely cleansed from her sins, or assumed that Mary too was
immaculately conceived in order to have given birth to Jesus. However,
look at this issue from this perspective. Did the Holy Spirit use a
sperm to impregnate Mary, or did God form Jesus in Mary's womb?

Let us examine what we know from the scriptures.
1) We know for a fact that Jesus lead a sinless life.
2) We can all agree that Jesus does not have the sinful nature in Him. He only has the likeness of sinful flesh [Rom 8:3-4].

In Luke 1:35, the angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to
be born will be called the Son of God." The Holy Spirit caused Mary to
become pregnant with
child.
4) We can conclude that Mary was never inseminated with a human sperm because Mary was a virgin mother.

BECAUSE THE CONCEPTION OF JESUS IS NOT THROUGH ORDINARY PROCESS BUT
THROUGH MIRACULOUS PROCESS THAT IS DIVINE INTERVENTION. IT IS CALLED

DON'T TELL ME THAT YOUR MOTHER WAS VIRGIN
WHEN SHE CONCEIVED YOU? SHE WAS NOT. MARY WAS A VIRGIN WHEN SHE
CONCEIVED AND GAVE BIRTH TO JESUS, SO IT WAS NOT THROUGH ORDINARY
PROCESS YET THE BIBLE CATEGORICALLY STATES THAT MARY IS THE MOTHER OF
JESUS. SINCE JESUS IS GOD-WITH-US [cf. Matthew 1:23] THEN MARY IS THE
MOTHER OF GOD, MOTHER OF THE LORD, MOTHER OF THE HIGH PRIEST OF THE NEW
COVENANT, MOTHER OF THE KING OF KINGS AND MOTHER OF THE LORD OF LORDS.

PROTECTION MARY IS NOT TAINTED BY ORIGINAL SIN BECAUSE OF GOD'S GRACE.

MOTHER AND YOUR SISTER AND YOUR WIFE ARE NOT GIVEN THE SAME HONOR AND
PRIVILEGE. THEY ARE ROTTEN LIKE YOU. BUT MARY IS UNIQUE AND FAR BETTER

GIVEN THE SAME GRACE GIVEN TO MARY.

FORMING JESUS? HERE IS THE ANSWER OF GOD THE FATHER DURING HIS FIRST
ANNOUNCEMENT OF SALVATION AS TESTIFIED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT:

Genesis
3:15 [KJV] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and
between thy seed and HER SEED; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt
bruise his heel.

THE MESSIAH IS THE SEED OF THE WOMAN. THUS, IN
THE ABSENCE OF A MAN JESUS' GENES ARE BIOLOGICALLY AND TOTALLY TAKEN
FROM MARY. JESUS IS THE FRUIT OF THE WOMB OF MARY... MARY IS THE TREE
AND JESUS IS THE FRUIT, IF YOU WANT AN ANALOGY. THUS, THE HUMAN BODY OF
JESUS IS FASHIONED BY GOD ONLY FROM THE SEED OF MARY.

THIS IS
ANOTHER MIRACLE BECAUSE IN ORDINARY CASE THE HUMAN PERSON IS THE SEED OF
BOTH FATHER AND MOTHER. AND PRIOR TO THE DISCOVERY OF MICROSCOPE PEOPLE
WERE THINKING THAT THE CHILD IS PURELY THE SEED OF THE MAN ONLY. BUT
GOD DECLARED THAT THE ONE WHO WILL VANQUISH THE DEVIL IS THE SEED OF THE
WOMAN. IT IS FULFILLED IN MARY BECAUSE SHE IS A VIRGIN [cf. Isaiah 7:14
and Matthew 1:23].

IT IS TRUE THAT THE VIRGIN BIRTH OF JESUS WAS
WROUGHT BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT [cf. Matthew 1:18-20 and Luke
1:34-35], BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT FOLLOWED THE DECLARATION OF GOD THE FATHER
THAT THE INCARNATION OF THE LOGOS-GOD IS BY THE SEED OF THE WOMAN.

SHE PRAYED TO JESUS AND JESUS PERFORMED THE MIRACLE AT CANA DUE TO THE PRAYER OF MARY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT YET TIME TO START HIS MINISTRY JESUS ANSWERED HER PRAYERS [John 2:1-11]. THE PRAYER OF MARY WAS ANSWERED BY JESUS BECAUSE GOD DECREED THAT "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" [James 5:16]. MARY IS BLESSED AND FULL OF GRACE, HIGHLY FAVORED OF GOD... THUS, HER PRAYERS ARE EFFICACIOUS AND AVAILETH MUCH IN THE EYES OF THE LORD UNLIKE THE PRAYERS YOU ARE ADDRESSING TO YOUR PASTORS ON TV. THEY ARE USELESS. IN FACT THEY ONLY PROVE THAT YOUR SO-CALLED TEACHING OF PRAYING DIRECTLY TO GOD IS ONLY A FARCE BECAUSE YOU ARE SENDING YOUR PRAYERS TO YOUR EVANGELISTS ON TV. why didn't you approve my comment? wala ka bang sagot tunkol sa prayers offered to mary? being catholic has a lot of loopholes and rituals which is not written in the bible.. bakit nyo pinagbawal noon ang pagbasa ng bible when it is clearly stated in the bible na kailangan ispread ung word? bakit merong purgatoryo noon for so many years and ngayon nyo lang iproproclaim na wala pala?? and why pray to saints and to mary? they are all dead.. right? paki sagot naman po o, so that majustify nyo whether your rituals are indeed pleasing to God.

Mary-is-God Heresy Part I by Bro. Marwil N. Llasos, O.P.

I had a chat with a lady from Cebu who claims to be following my blog The Knight of Mary (www.bromarwilnllasos.blospot.com). She paid me compliments for the work I am doing for the Lord, His Blessed Mother and the Church. At first, I did not know what her intention was. As I always accommodate all forms of communications to me and take the time to answer queries about the faith, I entertained her questions through chat and email. It was only after a series of exchanges did I realize that she is into a group that exalts Mary as a goddess, the incarnation of Wisdom (which to her is the Holy Spirit) and the “divine feminine.”

I was aghast to know that she believes in downright heresy. It is lunacy to ever think that Mary is a goddess! No sane Catholic would ever think that way. The Church, in her more than 2000-year history, has never taught the Blessed Virgin Mary to be divine. Though exalted by grace, Mary remains to be a human being. Mary’s humanity is the guaranty of the true humanity of Christ who took flesh from her.

The lady later on identified herself to me as Elizabeth R. Halican of No. 14 Holy Family Village I, Banilad, Cebu. She is adamant in her belief that Mary is the divine feminine, the personification or the incarnation of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, to Ms. Halican, is the Old Testament Wisdom. This is rank heresy.

In my recent email to Ms. Halican, I told her that I will respond to her concerns publicly through my blog. So here it is. This is the first in a series of articles that will critique the heretical (and obviously crazy) doctrine that Mary is God.

In an email to me last 12 December 2010, Elizabeth R. Halican complained against my calling her views heretical. I was merely stating a fact – and restating the pronouncement of Church authorities.

In February 2009, Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, then Archbishop of Cebu, warned all the Catholic faithful “to guard against the teachings of a religious organization that reportedly elevates Mary as the third person of the Holy Trinity.” The Cardinal exhorted the faithful to “beware of this group” and further said that the group commits the doctrinal error of defining the Holy Trinity as the “Father, the Son and the Mother,” with Mary taking the place of the Holy Spirit. This is precisely the heretical doctrine that Ms. Halican believes and promotes.

The Archbishop of Cebu said that that “if a Catholic indulges oneself in believing DEO's idea, he or she will be unable to receive the sacraments of the church.” Hence, Ms. Halican cannot receive the sacraments of the church. That is to say, she (along with the adherents of this pernicious heresy) is no longer a Catholic in good standing.

Cardinal Vidal expressed the hope that our “devotion to Mary will be based on the sound doctrine of the one, holy, apostolic and Catholic Church.” He reminded us that “Mary is the same young woman of Nazareth, who obeyed God's will in delivering Jesus into the world and taking good care of God's beloved until His death on the cross.”

It is not yet too late for Ms. Elizabeth R. Halican and others like her situated to repent and abjure their heresy. As the good Cardinal Vidal himself said, “Let's not be ashamed to confess our sins because although our sins are big, God will forgive us as He is merciful.” He added, “Mary is always praying that we may repent from our sinful ways.”

Marian Apparition in US Declared Worthy of Belief

Our Lady Appeared in 1859 to Belgian Immigrant in Wisconsin

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin, DEC. 8, 2010 (Zenit.org).- On today's feast of the Immaculate Conception, patroness of the United States, apparitions of Our Lady in Wisconsin have been given official diocesan approval.



Reading from his decree at a special Mass today at the Champion, Wisconsin, shrine, Bishop David Ricken of Green Bay stated, "I declare with moral certainty and in accord with the norms of the Church that the events, apparitions and locutions given to Adele Brise in October of 1859 do exhibit the substance of supernatural character, and I do hereby approve these apparitions as worthy of belief -- although not obligatory -- by the Christian faithful."



Today’s declaration makes Our Lady of Good Help at Champion the first and only site in the United States of an approved apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary.



Dazzling



The apparitions -- there were three -- occurred in 1859. Our Lady spoke with Adele Brise (1831-1896), a young immigrant from Belgium.



It was early October when Brise saw Our Lady the first time: a lady clothed in dazzling white, with a yellow sash around her waist and a crown of stars around her head.



The vision slowly disappeared after several moments, without speaking to Brise.



The following Sunday, Oct. 9, Brise was on her way to Mass when the Lady returned. After Mass, Brise had the chance to ask her confessor about the apparitions, and he told her that if it were a heavenly messenger, she would see it again. He encouraged her to ask in God’s name who it was and what it desired of her.



On the return trip home, Our Lady again appeared and Brise did as her confessor had recommended.



“I am the Queen of Heaven who prays for the conversion of sinners, and I wish you to do the same," the Lady responded to Brise's question. "You received Holy Communion this morning and that is well. But you must do more. Make a general confession and offer Communion for the conversion of sinners. If they do not convert and do penance, my Son will be obliged to punish them."



One of the women with Brise asked her with whom she was speaking and why they couldn't see anyone.



“Kneel,” said Brise, “the Lady says she is the Queen of Heaven.” At this, the Lady looked kindly at Brise's companions and said, "Blessed are they that believe without seeing.”



The Lady continued, “What are you doing here in idleness while your companions are working in the vineyard of my Son?”



“What more can I do, dear Lady?” Brise asked.



“Gather the children in this wild country and teach them what they should know for salvation.”



“But how shall I teach them who know so little myself?” Brise replied.



“Teach them their catechism, how to sign themselves with the sign of the cross, and how to approach the sacraments; that is what I wish you to do," the Lady said. "Go and fear nothing. I will help you.”



Brise's father built a small chapel on the site and Brise went about fulfilling Our Lady's mandate, a mission she continued until her death in 1896.



Approval



Bishop Ricken's approval comes after an almost two-year investigation of the events and their consequences, which he initiated in January 2009.



The Diocese of Green Bay has published information on its Web site regarding apparitions in the Church.



The statements clarify that it is a diocesan bishop and not the Holy See nor the episcopal conference that is responsible for judging the authenticity of apparitions that are said to have occurred in his diocese.



The statements further noted that not all alleged apparitions are given Church approval, and in the United States, for example, supposed apparitions at Necedah, Wisconsin, and Bayside, New York, were examined and declared to be false.



"No one can prove the supernatural," the statement recalled. "The Church judges apparitions on the basis of their consistency with sacred Scripture, sacred Tradition and the teachings of the Church, the subsequent spiritual benefits in the lives of people, and whether there is anything in the life of the seer that detracts from the credibility of the account."

2. I will repeat, I contested this quotation from Mr. Abe: “ But she (Mary) is the most blessed of the members of the church, except …. ”

3. I may not that good in English grammar, but I understand what Mr. Abe quoted. I did not said in any of my comments that the blessedness of Mary surpasses God or Lord Jesus. I did not even think of it. And I know Mr. Abe will not say as such that Mary surpasses God blessedness..

4. I am not attacking this blog as you presumed, what I did is to contest. And it is your discretion if you will answer it or not. And I thank God you did replied.

5. I admit my mistake is quoting “none in the Bible” for JB is a Bible per se. But I presumed the idea is still intact on my comment that in original language, it is not written as “most blessed”.

6. It is your understanding when you explained the Rev. 22:18. The understanding given to Bro. Eli is not the same as what you have in you now.

[Yes, and you failed to sustain your contention. You are not able to present one shred of evidence, Biblically or otherwise, that Mary is not the most blessed of the members of the Church. True, they prove others as blessed and faithful, but in no way do these verses state that Mary is not the most blessed of the members of the Church. [I didn’t say that the word “most” appears in the original Greek of Luke 1:42. However, the Jerusalem Bible gave a dynamic equivalent of the original sense in Greek as translated into English. Another rendering of the Greek thought in its functional equivalent is “Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, "God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed” (Lk. 1:42, NLT). I understand that your opposition to the Jerusalem Bible is that it is a Catholic Bible, hence, biased in favor of the Catholic position. If that is the case, would you not accept a Protestant translation that precisely says the same thing? Let’s check: “She said in a loud voice, "You are the MOST BLESSED of all women, and blessed is the child that you will have” (Lk. 1:42, God’s Word Translation). Even Protestant commentors Bible scholars and commentators have this to say: “Blessed art thou among women - She here repeated nearly the words of the angel to Mary, esteeming it to be the highest honor among mothers to be the mother of the Messiah” [Barnes Notes on the Bible, see: http://bible.cc/luke/1-42.htm].

[Of course, I gave my understanding based on the sense of Scripture (Neh. 8:8). On the other hand, your understanding is based on what is given to you by Blessed Eliseo Soriano and not what the Scripture actually says. You have not discussed the understanding of Blessed Eliseo Soriano and tested it in the light of Scripture passages I gave. Neither did you ever answer the questions I posed at you. Fair is fair. When you ask us questions, we answer. When we ask you questions, well, we don’t get answers. How is that?]

It was my understanding, yes, but based on common sense and clear verdict of Scripture based on the very same quotations that you gave.
