Debian 6.0 final version released, and can be downloaded

This time there has been more delays and as we told on Engadget regarding the announcement of Neil McGovern in late January, the final version of Debian 6.0 has been released on the date specified in the notice.

We have been outstanding during the weekend launch. As you know followers of this great GNU / Linux, Debian is known for offering stable versions with great length of time between them for system stability and against incorporating the latest developments.

Another feature is the variety of hardware architectures it supports and the large number of packages incorporating, 29,000 in this release. Debian 6.0 comes out with a new installer, support for the ext4 filesystem, the GRUB boot loader for x86 and 2 groups recommended packages.

Due to the large amount of software that incorporates it is reasonable to lower the ISO image of the network install, which can be found prominently on the top right of the homepage, just do it and I am about to try it. The full distribution are 52 images on CD ISO.

It seems the Debian team has used the launch to change the look and content distribution of its website, leaving the dominant red and giving it a more modern look. The information it contains has not lowered the bar and continues to be very complete.
