Prof. Marwil N. Llasos, OP, JD, LL.M. (cand.) was likewise inducted into office as Formator of the Company of St. Dominic.

Prof. Llasos succeeded Prof. Nestor G. Limqueco, OP as Formator of the institute upon the latter’s election as Supreme Moderator. As a Dominican formator, Prof. Llasos automatically becomes a member of the Dominican Formators’ Conference of the Philippines. Prof. Llasos will work closely with Sr. Meriam Litor, OP, Formatress of the Congregation of Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena for the formation of the members of the Company of St. Dominic.

At the end of the meeting, Rev. Fr. Sanny C. De Claro blessed the Council Members of the Company of St. Dominic with the sacred relic of St. Teresa of Avila whose feast is celebrated today by the universal church.

It was indeed fitting that the appointment and oath taking of Prof. Marwil N. Llasos, OP as Formator of the Dominican secular institute coincided with the feast of the great reformer of Carmel and master of the spiritual life. St. Teresa of Avila was a devotee of our holy father St. Dominic. St. Dominic appeared to St. Teresa of Avila and assured her of his protection and patronage for the Carmelite reform undertaken by the great mystic and Doctor of the Church.

After their audience with the Minister Prefect, the Council Members of the Company of St. Dominic proceeded to the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Manila Cathedral) to attend Mass in thanksgiving for the countless blessings and choicest graces most generously bestowed by Almighty God to the Company of St. Dominic through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Dominic de Guzman, St. Catherine of Siena and other Dominican saints and blessed.

Lunch followed at Nutrition House inside the walled city of Intramuros where the Council Members of the Company of St. Dominic partook of God’s most loving providencia.
