The wife of the dictator Ferdinand Marcos, Madame Imelda Romualdez
Marcos, is a devoted Catholic despite the fact that the Catholic Church
in the Philippines led their expulsion from power. She regularly offers
Masses for the soul of her husband. The entire family of course remained Catholic and are offering Masses for the late president. Also, he is regarded as a hero in his native region, ILOCOS. During his death anniversary the people of Ilocof Norte were offering Masses for him with other non-religious activities to preserve his memories.

I still remember when he died. I was a seminarian then. Our now deceased Rector, Fr. Bruno Sciavon, CRS informed us of the news. The he gathered us to one place and said that regardless of our political convictions let us pray for the repose of his soul. Then we started the Catholic Prayers for the Eternal Rest of the deceased. Then, we also remembered him in the Holy Mass.

The Catholic Church offers
Masses for both the good and the bad. For the good to give thanks to God
for the grace of holiness given them and for the bad to pray to God to
have mercy on their souls.
