IS IT OK TO USE CONTRACEPTIVES IN ORDER TO AVOID HAVING MENTALLY CHALLENGED OR DISABLED CHILDREN?

The Pope blesses a disabled child lovingly carried by her mother

Hello Josemaria Lazaro...

If the woman will poison her body with
Contraceptive chemicals before or after the sexual union it is more
possible for the child to be mentally or physically challenged/disabled.
Because instead of having normal process there is chemical pollution
and contamination. To have normal children it is advisable not to take
contraceptive medicines so that the body of the mother is free of any
foreign chemicals that mighg affect the natural development of the
child.

That case I think is classic: THE END DOES NOT JUSTIFY THE
MEANS. The purpose seems to be good but the means is not. Much worse
the means could be the source of the evil that the mother intentionally
trying to avoid.

Also, essentially speaking that intention is very barbaric and pagan. It reminds me of the Spartans who were killing the children who were found to be physically or mentally defective by hurling them on cliffs. The Catholic Moral stand is that if ever the child is defective he or she deserves our respect as equal human being and must be given extreme care with love because of the fragile condition. Our Catholic moral stand is to accept them with love and affection never the attitude of rejection. That is why the charitable institutions of the Church provide for the care of these children especially those abandoned by their parents.
