Ines Sainz

Ines Sainz :What Happened to Reporter Inside NY Jets Locker Room?

Ines Sainz, an Azteca reporter.Sainz is a former Miss Universe contestant and is known as the “hottest sports reporter in Mexico” so she’s no stranger to receiving attention for her looks and the somewhat provocative clothing she wears on the job. The Jets may have given her a little too much attention however.

Ines was at the Jets practice facility to do a story on Mark Sanchez when she was the subject of catcalls and stereotypically borish behavior. The controversy is something of a perfect storm, coming after the Jets were featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks where America saw the team’s head coach Rex Ryan (and others) use a tremendous amount of blue language helping to contribute to the impression that the Jets are not a terribly professional organization.

from the cbsnews about Ines Sainz:
Ines Sainz says she never felt like she was "attacked" when she entered the New York Jets locker room on Saturday to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez.
In my opinion, I never felt I was attacked," the Mexican sportscaster told Spanish-language program DeporTV on Monday. "I went to the locker room and started to talk about commentary and sports. Another reporter approached me to say he was sorry these things were happening...and that evidently people were making fun of me."
Prior to her presence in the locker room - where players called out to the TV Azteca reporter - footballs were thrown in her direction by a Jets coach during practice.
She told TV Azteca that though she was embarrassed, she didn't take it to heart and didn't realize it was going to become such a big deal, according to CNN.
"It was definitely a joking tone, very amicable," Sainz said in an interview with a colleague. "I wasn't offended."
On Sunday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said that the league and the Jets began looking into the situation when they were made aware of it Saturday night.
The Jets released a statement about the incident, saying that they "will continue to work with the League to gather the facts and take any appropriate steps necessary to maintain a respectful environment for the media."
The statement says owner Woody Johnson spoke to Sainz on Sunday to discuss the incident, and that he "stressed to Ines that he expects all members of the Jets organization to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times."
